How to add a warning or legal notice or a text message before logon Screen of Windows XP, Vista and Seven (w7) without using any software

If your PC has multiple users, you can include a small text or a legal notice message before login to Windows. For example if you run a business and you are the administrator or owner of it, you can show a disclaimer message for usage policy of computer. To do this thing, you need to edit registry. Proceed with the following steps:

Disclaimer: Improper Registry editing can make your system unstable. We suggest you to take a backup of registry before following this tutorial.

1. Open Registry Editor.

 2. Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Policies\System
4. In the right pane, double-click on “legalnoticecaption” and enter the header text for the message in the “Value data” field and click “OK”.
5. Similarly double-click on “legalnoticetext” and enter the message text you want to be displayed below the header. Click “OK”.
You are done. Next time you reboot Windows, Header and text message will be displayed just before login.
After clicking on “OK” button, login screen for password will appear.
